May 21 The Bold and Versatile Cairene Woman by Camicie

Somewhere in between the classic flannel shirt and the asymmetrical romper lies Camicie, dressing the elegantly trendy, but never boring, woman.

While scrolling through the Camicie look book the first thing that struck me was their consistent use of block colors, in earth tones and bold nudes. We all have an aesthetic that speaks to who we are as individuals, some people prefer bright fluorescents and floral prints, others lean more toward interesting silhouettes and cool tones. The latter is where I reside, but there is no right and wrong way in fashion.

Camicie was founded in 2012 by three sisters Maha, Kinda, and Nada Al Azm; with the hopes of providing the Egyptian woman with a diverse line of versatile clothing that appeals to a wide age range as well as several aesthetic tastes.

In Maha's words, the Camicie woman can be in her 20's or 50's, conservative or more open, and wearing the exact same white blouse from their collection styled to her preference. As a summer dress, as a long top over jeans with a veil, as a beach cover up; each piece can multi task and be adjusted to your personal style.

Camicie currently offers tops and dresses exclusively, with plans to branch out into bottoms and accessories in the future. Their design philosophy is simple, they work with solid colors, play around with textures and incorporate intriguing cuts in order to give each piece enough diversity to appeal to as wide a range of women as possible. And in Cairo, we have a little of every kind of woman.
