Pastels Feed the Soul

Pastels Feed the Soul

Think ice cream sundaes and blue skies ...

I was walking through Oysho the other day and experienced an overwhelming feeling of calm wash over me, I'd been shopping all day and decided that this would be my last stop to pick up a cami to wear on top of my grey Brandy Melville shorts.

Looking around me, my brain registered a colour palette theme to the store, I was surrounded by pastels. Hence, my zen demeanour.

Pastel shades are the unisex of fashion, meaning they work in both summer and fall looks to add a touch of serenity to an otherwise bold outfit. My favourite pastel is, of course, any pantone of a toned down off-white/beige. However, the options range from lilac, pistachio, baby blue, peach, milky yellow and salmon; all of which bring ease to the eyes of anyone taking a peek at your daily attire.

Pastels are a tool in fashion that many underestimate, so next time you're going out to Brunch with the girls in fall and don't want to go full frontal orange. Pick a pastel sweater, paired with light blue preferably ripped jeans and booties and a radical scarf to amp up the look; you'll be good to go and look instantly more chic due to your conscious color palette of watered down shades.

I am really into color and bright clothing. When I’m wearing heels, I always like to throw some different colors into my outfit, so it doesn’t match. That gives my look a retro and funky feel.
